Treitus is a platform for helping entrepreneurs and small business manufacture their products with the best quality, cost and time, using the manufacturing installed capacity of companies.
Some years ago two friends, Karim and Jorge, started to create web sites for different kind of companies.
Few years later, in 2013 Karim and Jorge meet Juan Alberto, who joined the team. Then they created conexioncanacintra.com, a business networking platform developed in partnership with CANACINTRA, the biggest Mexican Chamber of Industry, which nowadays has about 10,000 users or industries from Mexico and USA.
This platform gave the team enough experience, contacts, and the vision to create TREITUS, based on the needs they detected.
TREITUS seeks to democratize the way of manufacturing a product. However, the range of products and services covered by the industrial sector is very wide. Therefore, TREITUS currently focuses on two types of services: the machining service and additive manufacturing.
A manufacturing process in which a cutting tool is used to remove excess material from a work piece (metal, plastic or wood), so that the remainder is the desired shape.
A process that is carried out by technologies that build 3D objects by adding layer after layer of material (mainly plastic) to build physical objects.
Market and strategy
Our target market is those professionals, entrepreneurs or small and medium business that search the development of a product or prototype and that not have the infrastructure and knowledge of the industry to carry it out. The implementation strategy is divided into the following stages:
- EMPATHY (January 2017): Understand the market, the need and how the solution will work. Build the MVP and prove it.
- DEVELOPMENT AND ADHERENCE (February – March 2017): Build the Beta and continue testing the business model.
- VIRALITY (April – July 2017): Create through strategies the virality of the system and its value proposition.
- SOLID INCOME (August – December 2017): Start generating solid and recurring income.
- CLIMBING (2018 and up): Open new markets.
Our indirect competitors can be defined as the platforms of supply chain and e-commerce (B2B and B2C). There are popular platforms like Alibaba, Elemica, Exostar, among others. These platforms are responsible for connecting companies with software tools to commercialize their products and services. However, these platforms do not offer the customization of products in a friendly way for industries of all sizes. Lately, some projects were created that are friendly customization in any production stage. Primarily we have Maketime and Fast Radius, focused on the development of CNC projects and molding, and also there is Voodoo Manufacturing and Shapeways, focused on the development of projects through 3D printing.
Our business model is based on providing the web system that manages the request and the development of a product with qualified suppliers. TREITUS allows to request the best quotation according to price, quality and delivery logistics. If the quotation is accepted, TREITUS is responsible for the entire manufacturing and delivery process for quality assurance and reduction of production times and costs. For each project, TREITUS charges a commission of 14% on the total quoted. According to the complexity of the project, TREITUS will also be able to charge a fee to the user to reveal the suppliers that offered the quote if it is approved, so that the connection between client and supplier is direct without TREITUS intermediarism. In addition, TREITUS will provide a marketplace for suppliers with the aim of improving their capabilities.
